Boron nitride release agent for aluminum extrusion

Hexagonal boron nitride is a white, high purity hexagonal crystalline powder with the same layered structure as graphite and provides excellent lubrication/demudding properties. Graphite is highly reactive, reacts easily with metals/oxides and conducts electricity, while boron nitride is electrically insulating and chemically/thermal stable, and is stable at temperatures up to about 3000°C in an inert atmosphere.

Hexagonal boron nitride used as boron nitride release agent can form a protective layer on the surface of the mold, which can not only withstand the heat of the mold and metal liquid but also can protect the mold and metal liquid from contact. Boron nitride release agent has good lubricity and does not react with metals and other substances, so the release effect is excellent.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BN

• High thermal stability

Stable up to about 3000°C in inert atmosphere.

• High corrosion resistance

Stable to most organic solvents and corrosive chemicals and cannot be wetted by most molten metals and glass.

• High electrical characteristics

It has high electrical insulation and voltage resistance at high temperatures until the dielectric constant and dielectric loss in the high-frequency region do not change.

• Lubricity and demoulding efficiency

The friction coefficient does not change in a nitrogen atmosphere even at quite high temperatures, and can therefore be used in the air at temperatures up to about 950°C.

• High thermal conductivity and heat dissipation

High thermal conductivity, high heat dissipation can be applied to all kinds of radiators
