Application Of Boron Nitride Release Agent in Melting And Welding Of Metal Casting
Jul 07, 2022
Hexagonal boron nitride has excellent chemical stability, resists neutron radiation from nuclear reactors, is not affected by acid and alkali, in inert atmosphere (nitrogen or argon) decomposition temperature up to 2500℃, shows excellent chemical stability under extreme conditions.
Hexagonal boron nitride can be made into boron nitride separation ring for horizontal continuous casting of steel. Hexagonal boron nitride is very stable to carbon and carbon monoxide at 1800℃, and is not corroded by molten glass, silicon, boron, non-oxide slag, molten salt (borax, crcrite) in steel.
Hexagonal boron nitride can be made into composite shells for titanium casting. Titanium metal chemical stability is poor, in the high temperature and severe deformation of forging, metal flow to produce fresh surface is very prone to stick mold, resulting in forging and mold scrap at the same time. Boron nitride release agent composite shell coating on the die surface can avoid direct contact between titanium metal and die.
Hexagonal boron nitride can also be used in welding and furnace brazing processes to protect the workpiece surface from damage caused by welding slag splashing, and can also play a protective role in metal welding process.
